Ein Auftakt nach Mass: Im Short Race der Junioren sicherte sich Joel Fluri souverän die Goldmedaille und Dario Rohn holte Bronze. Wenn die Form stimmt, ist auch im Short Race mit Fabio zu rechnen. Ein eigentliches Ausscheidungsrennen, bis am Schluss nur noch Fabio und unser letztjähriger Teamfahrer Luca Schätti um den Sieg kämpften. Luca verwies Fabio knapp auf Rang zwei. Fazit nach dem ersten Tag: drei SM-Medaillen im Short Race.

Zum Auftakt fuhr die Juniorin Chloe Tschumi auf Rang drei. Fiona, als Favoritin am Start des U23-Damenrennens, wurde hart gefordert. Ein Dreikampf an der Spitze bis zum Schluss. In der letzten Runde konnte sie das Rennen für sich entscheiden und gewann damit ihren ersten CH-Meistertitel. Als Mitfavorit in der Elite Herren wurde Fabio dieser Rolle gerecht. Stets in der Spitzengruppe präsent, setzte sich einzig der Tessiner Filippo Colombo in der drittletzten Runde leicht ab. Dahinter wiederholte sich das Duell Püntener – Schätti. Im letzten Aufstieg drückte Fabio eine derart hohe Wattzahl, dass Schätti nicht mehr folgen konnte, und er fuhr noch bis auf acht Sekunden an Colombo heran.

Fazit nach zwei Tagen: 6 Medaillen für das Bike Team Solothurn

Andorra ist für das Bike Team Solothurn die nächste Station. Am kommenden Wochenende steht der nächste Weltcup auf dem Programm.

Savognin brought another successful weekend for Bike Team Solothurn at the Swiss Championships.

A perfect start: In the junior men's short race, Joel Fluri confidently claimed the gold medal, while Dario Rohn took bronze. And when the form is there, Fabio is always a contender too. It turned into a true elimination race, with only Fabio and our former teammate Luca Schätti left battling for the win in the end. Luca narrowly edged out Fabio, who finished second. The takeaway after day one: three Swiss Championship medals in the short race.

The next day began with junior rider Chloe Tschumi securing third place. Fiona, one of the favourites in the U23 women’s race, was pushed to her limits. A three-way battle at the front lasted until the final lap, where she managed to pull away and win her first Swiss Championship title. In the elite men’s race, Fabio lived up to his role as co-favourite. Always present in the lead group, only Filippo Colombo from Ticino managed to break away slightly in the third-last lap. Behind him, the familiar duel between Püntener and Schätti resumed. On the final climb, Fabio pushed such high watts that Schätti couldn’t follow, and Fabio closed the gap to Colombo to just eight seconds.
